Blackberries, Bounty & Community: Why Blackberry Festival Matters

At Wildside Winery, summer doesn’t just bring sunshine — it brings the season of abundance. Our blackberry vines are bursting with ripe fruit, and with them comes a chance to slow down, get our hands a little stained, and remember where our food really comes from.

One of the most meaningful parts of Blackberry Festival is watching families walk the rows together. Kids laugh with juice-stained smiles, proudly showing off the berries they picked themselves. In a world full of convenience and pre-packaged everything, it’s important they see that food comes from the earth — and that it’s grown by real people who care deeply about the land.

Our son Axel has been out in the field this week doing just that — picking blackberries, tasting the sweet reward, and learning what it means to gather food straight from the vine. As a farmer, those moments are everything. And we wanted to share them with you.

From Vine to Glass — With Love & Magic

At Wildside Winery, we’re proud to do things the old-fashioned way — with our hands in the soil and our hearts in the work. We grow grapes. We harvest fruit. We process, ferment, and bottle the wine right here on the farm. Then we open our doors and share it directly with you — the community who makes it all matter.

There’s something powerful about knowing exactly where your wine comes from. No middlemen. No mystery. Just passion, purpose, and a little Wildside magic in every pour.

A Celebration of Local Talent

But Blackberry Festival is about more than berries and wine. It’s about celebrating the whole harvest — not just what grows in the ground, but what blooms from our community.

It’s the artisan who spent hours handcrafting jewelry or soap. It’s the musician who pours their heart into every chord played on our vineyard stage. It’s the local foodie who bakes cobbler from scratch with love and Kentucky-grown fruit.

Together, they make this festival more than an event — they make it a celebration of passion, talent, and connection.

So come walk the rows. Pick a few berries. Sip something delicious. Meet the people behind the crafts. Dance a little under the open sky.

Come share in the bounty.

We can't wait to welcome you. 💜

This year’s Blackberry Festival takes place on Saturday, July 19th from 12–7 PM and Sunday, July 20th from 12–5 PM right here at Wildside Winery in Versailles, KY. Enjoy complimentary blackberry picking (just bring your own container), live music both days, and fresh blackberry cobbler while it lasts. We’ll be pouring our popular blackberry wine slushees, and for the little ones, we’ve created a special non-alcoholic slushee just for kids — because everyone deserves a taste of summer. Entry is free, parking is easy, and the memories are waiting to be made.
